Hostels are becoming increasingly popular in north Wales, especially among young travellers on budgets. With some visitors spending the majority of their time in the great outdoors here in north Wales, they only want to rest the heads before another big day again in the G.O.D.  Suffice to say Hostels in north Wales, are perfect for them and tick all the boxes.

  1. Elen’s Castle Hotel

It is an ancient building that once served as a coaching inn in 18thcentury and it is located in a quiet village. This historical building is provided with all the modern amenities for the comfort of the guests, along with many original qualities.

  1. Llangollen Hostel


This hostel is known for its cleanliness and comfort in all the double bedrooms, en suite four-bedroom and six-bedrooms of different categories. Here, the guests are offered all kinds of modern facilities and recreational options, like bicycles and canoes for sightseeing.

  1. Plas Curig Hostel


It is a hostel that was established by Youth Hostel Association of Wales, in the centre of Snowdonia National Park in 1945. However, now it is a family-run accommodation for the tourists, where they can find all the comfort and fun of a cosy home and also allowed to bring in their pet dogs.

   4. Snowdon Lodge Group Hostel


This hostel building has 10 rooms, including the twin rooms, double bedrooms and the dormitories for the tourists. There is a large dining room for accommodating 40 people at a time, a self catering kitchen and a modern conference room with seating arrangements for 50 people.

Location: Tremadog Village that is 800 m from Porthmadog, 6 miles from Mount Snowdon and 4 miles from the beaches of Black Rock Sands.

  1. Lodge Dinorwig


It is known to be a 4 Star hostel that was earlier a large school building on the outskirts of Snowdon National Park. The guests enjoy the breakfast in the onsite Cafe and the owners offer homemade meals to the 14 guests accommodated in 7 bunk beds of the bedroom.

  1. Borth Youth Hostel


This hostel is located at a distance of only 4 miles from the sea beach and also in close proximity to Snowdon National Park. This Edwardian building has 9 comfortable rooms from where sea views are quite clear to the boarders.

  1. Platt’s Farm Bunkhouse


It is a 3 Star hostel that has 2 bunkrooms with the accommodation for 10 people at a time; as well as the self catering kitchen with all the latest amenities that also serves as the dining room for 10 boarders. There are also sufficient covered outdoor areas for holding BBQ parties, camps and picnics by the tourists.

  1. The Vagabond


It is a large bunkhouse or hostel that is located at the centre point of Snowdonia National Park. There are numbers of large rooms with 4, 6 and 8 comfortable beds in each; with the total accommodation capability for 36 people.

  1. Conwy Valley Barn


It is a lovely family farm that is located on the picturesque Conwy Valley, on the banks of Conwy River. Actually, it is a centrally heated bunkhouse with the accommodation of 20 people in the dormitories that can house 4, 6 or even 10 people

  1. Bala Backpackers


It is organized in the form of a hostel, which contains 30 single beds in the dormitories of 3, 4 or 5 beds, 3 double bedrooms and 3 en suite rooms. The guests can use the self catering kitchen or may order for lunch in ECO Cafe of this hostel; while boating or rafting in the adjacent river and lake.

This hostel is located in the ground floor of the local police station and thus, the guests can leave all their valuables safely behind, while going on sightseeing. This hostel is located amidst the picturesque forest area of Lledr Valley, just on the outskirt of Dolwyddelan village and at the centre of Snowdonia National Park.   1. Treks Bunkhouse

This large hostel is located on the Moelwyn Mountains, amidst the wild nature of Snowdonia and very close to Ffestiniogvillage. Earlier this building belonged to Ffestiniog Golf Club since 1893 and later it was turned into a family-run tourist accommodation, where the tourists can get too many options for recreational adventures.

17.    Bunkorama

This hostel was earlier a small stone stable that was converted into a bunkhouse for accommodating the mountain climbers, cyclists and explorers. The picturesque beauty of Gwastad Agnes adds to the attraction of this comfortable hostel that is conveniently located close to all expedition routes of this region.

18.  Betws-y-Coed Youth Hostel

This hostel is also called Swallow Falls Hostel, as the famous Swallow Falls is just opposite the road passing before this building, located at the central part of Snowdonia National Park. There are both en suite rooms for families and also dormitories for groups of tourists in this hostel, which is situated just on the border of a dense forest valley and also close to the local Railway Station.

  1. Pentre Bach Bunkhouse

This two floored hostel is made in alpine style, surrounded by the picturesque peaks of Moel Eilio and Mynydd Mawr.  The upper floor of this centrally heated building with electrical radiators contains the comfortable sleeping arrangements for 16 people, while the ground floor holds the modernised kitchen and the dining space with wooden benches and tables.

20.   Maentwrog Bunkhouse

This hostel is made by renovating a 200 years old cowshed that was used by an animal farm in olden days. All the modern amenities are now provided to the guests staying here now, including the locked parking spaces for the bikes so that the tourists can enjoy all the adventurous mountainous and beach activities here.
